Wear Your Art on Your Sleeve

We've always been a huge proponent of adding a little bling to your wardrobe with a well placed sequin jacket. And, if you've been following this blog, we're also huge proponents of mixing art + fashion. And nobody mixed those two ideas better than Jeanette Kastenberg.

Joan Miro Ciphers and Constellations in Love with a Woman

Taking her inspiration from Joan Miro's 1941 painting, Ciphers and Constellations in Love With a Woman, she created this incredible sequin + beaded silk jacket that we're happy to offer to you.

I Like Big Buttons + I Cannot Lie

Throughout the 1990s and 2000s, oversized accents were in. Marc Jacobs + Christian Lacroix both popularized oversize gems + jewels. Chanel introduced massive hula hoop purses in 2013. Both Moschino + Ben Cho took the same approach with buttons.

Ahead of the times as usual, was Oscar de la Renta. As head of haute couture at Pierre Balmain, his S/S 1989 collection featured a range of oversize buttons, from the large to the comical. While the slightly comical is definitely not something normally associated with Oscar de la Renta or Pierre Balmain you can't help but look at these pieces and think both "Oscar" and "Balmain."

Absolutely awesome 1989 Pierre Balmain haute couture blazer designed by Oscar de la Renta. An extremely rare find find and right on trend for 2015!

Colorblocked slubbed silk body in banana yellow, bright watermelon and dark (almost black) midnight blue. Classic construction with crossover body and notched peplum. Of course the best part is the massive, oversize button at the waist. Fully labeled and numbered. Lined in silk. Pristine vintage condition - truly looks unworn.
