Next year is the 100th anniversary of the National Park System. We like to celebrate a little early + with summer upon us, it's the perfect time to get out in the fresh air, explore and, of course, look great while doing so. Here's a little vintage inspiration for all your outdoor fashion needs.

Hilda Kurth, Catherine Robbins + Kathleen Norris. In the 1920s, these 3 young women made history by hiking the entire Long Trail from Massachusetts to Canada (a feat unheard of for women of the time), earning them the nickname "The Three Musketeers."
Glen + Bessie Hyde. In 1928, these adventure-seeking newlyweds decided to celebrate their honeymoon by braving the rapids of the Colorado River in a homemade boat. On November 18, 1928, the couple stopped at the Bright Angel Trail in the Grand Canyon where they had their portrait taken by resident photographer Emory Kolb before returning to their boat + shoving back off -- they were never heard from or seen again.
